Our Wildlife Sanctuary We are developing Darrynane as a wildlife sanctuary in order to attract and enjoy as wide a range of wildlife as possible.
Throughout the year we are visited by an enormous range of species, some seasonal and others regular visitors or residents. The photo above is of one of the deer that we regularly see and this was taken on the lawn beside the house. At present we are looking to develop a range of habitats to maximise our visitor numbers, including the creation of compost heaps specially designed for slow worms and hedgehogs, and owl nesting boxes. This year we have seen quite a phenomenal increase in species, including:
